Service Learning

Service learning at Panyaden empowers students to become active problem-solvers. They identify real-world issues, research solutions, and take meaningful action. Each project aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), helping students understand how local efforts contribute to global change. Building water filters supports Goal 6 (Clean Water), while tutoring younger students promotes Goal 4 (Quality Education). This connection fosters a sense of global citizenship and purpose.

duke of edinburgh international award logo

Open to students aged 14–24, the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award recognises personal growth and perseverance. Students create their own four-part journey: developing a skill, maintaining regular physical activity, volunteering in their community, and completing an adventurous expedition. Activities range from learning to cook, teaching English to migrant workers, or hiking through national parks.

With guidance from mentors, students set goals and track progress independently. The award has three levels—Bronze (6 months), Silver (12 months), and Gold (18 months)—with increasing levels of challenge. The Gold Award includes a five-day residential project that pushes students beyond their comfort zones and often becomes a defining life experience.
