Academic Scholarship
Panyaden International School awards generous scholarships for high-achieving students. This academic scholarship is available to new students joining us in our Secondary School (Year 7 to Year 13) and our current students continuing or entering our Secondary School (Year 7 to Year 13). Please complete the application process outlined below to be considered for a Panyaden Academic Scholarship. Please note that the panel reserves the right to all scholarship decisions.
Application Deadline
The application closes on Sunday 18 February 2024, at 17:00 hours Thai time.
Eligibility
- Currently enrolling or new students applying to secondary school (Year 7 to Year 13).
- Ready to enrol full-time study in August 2024 for the academic year 2024-2025.
- Provide evidence of strong academic performance.
- Submit the complete application by the deadline.
Requirements to maintain scholarship
Maintain high academic performance. Please study the PYD Scholarship Programme Policies and Procedures Academic Year 2024-25 carefully.
Criteria and Selection for New Students
The selection of academic scholars is based on a review of previous academic reports, references from current teachers/administrators, screening tests and interviews coordinated by the Admissions Office and the Panyaden Scholarship Panel. The scholarship test includes individual assessments in mathematics, languages, and other areas to determine the applicant’s academic potential.
Criteria and Selection for Current Panyaden Students
The selection of academic scholars is based on previous academic reports, MAP test results, portfolio reviews, and interviews coordinated by the Admissions Office and the Scholarship Panel.
Steps to apply
For new students:
- The applicant must complete and apply on the PYD OpenApply. Applicants must attach all supporting documentation to their application according to the required checklists guided on the application.
- School records.
- Recommendation letters and referee nomination. Please note that a referee cannot be related to the applicant.
- 500-word scholarship essay (details in the online application)
- Portfolio:
Submit a comprehensive portfolio showcasing academic achievements, extracurricular involvement, and personal projects. This component of our scholarship application provides a holistic view of your potential and passion for learning.
- Shortlisted applicants will be notified of the testing date, time, venue, and assessment procedures on February 23, 2024. Online assessments can be offered to candidates who are not residents of Chiang Mai.
- Shortlisted candidates will interview with the Scholarship Panel following the general testing. The Scholarship Panel will make the final scholarship selections.
- Confirmation for enrolment must be made within seven (7) days of the admission and scholarship offer date, and the initial charges must be made within seven (7) days after.
**Initial charges are a one-time payment, which will be deducted toward the Academic Year 2024-2025 invoice. This is non-refundable and non-transferable. You can read about the academic year 2023-2024 school fees here for reference. The Academic Year 2024-2025 is subject to revision.
For current Panyaden students:
- Applicants must complete all supporting documentation to their application guide below and submit them to scholarships@panyaden.ac.th
- Scholarship essay question (maximum 500-word count):
Describe your academic aspiration and your commitment to environmental stewardship. Explain how they are aligned with Panyaden’s 12 Wise Habits, and explain how you plan to apply them at the school as the school’s ambassador. - Portfolio:
Submit a comprehensive portfolio showcasing academic achievements, extracurricular involvement, and personal projects. This component of our scholarship application provides a holistic view of your potential and passion for learning.
- Scholarship essay question (maximum 500-word count):
- Shortlisted candidates will be invited to interview with a Scholarship Panel following the general testing. The Scholarship Panel will make the final scholarship selections.
- Confirmation for re-enrollment must be made within seven (7) days of the scholarship offer date, and the re-enrollment deposit of THB 20,000* must be made within seven (7) days after.
*Guaranteed placement fee will be deducted toward Academic Year 2024-2025 tuition. This is non-refundable and non-transferable
Scholarship Timeline
18 February 2024 | Applications closes at 17:00 hours (Thai time). |
23 February 2024 | Shortlisted announcement to all students. Notification of assessment arrangements posted to shortlisted for new students. |
1 March 2024 | Onsite assessment for new students* |
11-15 March 2024 | Interview of shortlisted applicants. |
22 March 2024 | All applicants are informed of the outcome. |
29 March 2024 | Final date to secure placement and make the guaranteed placement. |
*Online assessments can be offered to candidates who are not residents of Chiang Mai.
Important Remarks:
Applications will not be considered that are:
- Submitted late
- Incomplete
- Not accompanied by required supporting documentation
